Newspaper Headlines: Unease in Rivers as two election agency commissioners quit

The lingering crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continues to take centre stage on the frontpages.

The newspapers celebrate women as the world commemorates International Women’s Day (IWD).

Punch reports that the opposition has described the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for re-election as a sham. The newspaper says the federal government, through the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), has announced the approval of licences for the construction of three new refineries.
Tribune reports that Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, has reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dismissing reports suggesting plans to defect to another political platform ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
