Newspaper Headlines: US, UN, PDP react to Lagos #EndSARS report

The reactions to the report of the Lagos state judicial panel on police brutality — including the Lekki tollgate investigation — especially calls for sanctions and implementation appeared on the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that UN, US, Amnesty International have demanded the implementation of the recommendations of the Lagos #EndSARS panel. The newspaper says Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), alleged that cryptocurrency firms practise high-level illegality.
The Nation says the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said eNaira will cut the cost of diaspora remittances. The newspaper reports that governors have insisted on litigation to resolve the row over the payment of $419 million to consultants on the Paris Club loan refund.

The Nigerian Tribune reports that the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU) has threatened to embark on strike over alleged bias in the payment of earned allowances. The newspaper says Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue, said the direct primary mode of selecting candidates for election is easier for governors to manipulate.
Daily Sun reports that anger trailed the report of the Lagos #EndSARS panel. The newspaper says Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti, asked secessionists to embrace restructuring rather than secession.
