Newspaper Headlines: Wike’s camp fumes over Atiku’s choice of Okowa as running mate

The selection of Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta, as the running mate to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that supporters of Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, are angry over the selection of Okowa as the running mate of Atiku. The newspaper says the federal government is planning the concession of 17 airports.
The Nation says some PDP founding fathers and governors influenced the choice of Okowa as running mate to Atiku. The newspaper reports the Lagos state government is set to demolish the two remaining structures at the collapsed Ikoyi 21-storey building site.
