Suspected armed robbers invaded the Abuja home of Ibrahim Abubakar, head of protocol at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), on Wednesday and shot him dead.
The NFF confirmed the incident via its social network, saying the Kaduna-born football administrator is being conveyed to his hometown of Kaduna, where he would be buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

Abubakar, who was in charge of visas and tickets, is a 1995 product of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he studied political science.
He attended Rimi College, Kaduna.
Meanwhile, Solomon Dalung, minister of youth and sports development, has paid a condolence visit to the NFF over Abubakar’s death.

Dalung visited the bereaved NFF family at their Abuja secretariat on Wednesday.
The NFF confirmed his visit via its social network.
