The Destiny Trust (TDT), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has inaugurated a multimedia learning space for children in remote communities.
The learning space is located at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Arapagi, Ibeju-Lekki local council development area (LCDA), Lagos state.
Athina Jeje, TDT’s chief operating officer, said in a statement that the learning centre is part of efforts to ensure that vulnerable children have access to quality education.
“Setting up multimedia learning spaces in hard-to-reach communities is a vital part of our mission to provide quality education to children everywhere,” Jeje said.

Our multimedia learning spaces offer both online and offline access to digital learning content, along with solar electricity to ensure a stable and renewable power source.
“Each space is equipped with smart TVs or smart boards, learning tablets, high-speed internet, and access to a vast digital library available offline, making learning more effective, interactive, engaging, and accessible.
“Our broad education technology initiative promises to revolutionise learning for underserved children and their teachers.

“Additionally, teachers will receive intensive training on using technology in the classroom and maintaining the multimedia devices.”
Jeje also said the establishment of the learning centre will contribute to bridging pupil-teacher ratio gaps and provide access to “standardised basic education content.”
“Our goal is to establish more of these learning spaces in underserved public schools and facilities serving orphans and vulnerable children,” she added.
“As the community celebrates this milestone, there is a deep sense of optimism and a shared belief that the best is yet to come.

“The Destiny Trust’s Multimedia Learning Spaces will be the primary distribution channels for our basic education content, achieving our goal of education empowered by technology—where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their social status or location on the map.”
Also speaking at the event, Mukail Kasali, the Wajoba of Ibeju land, extended the community’s appreciation to TDT for the intervention.
Kasali said for the Ansar-Ud-Deen school, which has been in existence for tens of years, the learning centre is a significant contribution to technology education access for children in the area.
