Niger revokes certificate of occupancy issued to IBB varsity

The Niger state government has revoked the certificate of occupancy (C of O) issued to Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) University in Suleja.

The government also revoked the C of O issued to other institutions and individuals within government-designated areas across the state.

Abdul Hussaini, the permanent secretary of the state’s ministry of lands and housing, announced the revocation in a statement on Saturday.

Hussaini said the decision was based on an executive order signed by Umar Bago, governor of Niger state.

He said land allocations within government-designated areas across the state are now revoked.

This, he said, includes the river basin land at Sabon Wuse, the three arms zone, and the city centre Minna.

Also affected are the new bypass and forestry land at Kontagora.
