Ndidi Winifred has won a silver medal in the women’s weightlifting 58kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Asaba-born athlete narrowly lost the gold medal to Zoe Smith of England on Saturday to set a new Games record with a final lift of 118kg for a total of 210kgs.
Michaela Breeze of Wales bagged the bronze medal.
With this medal, Team Nigeria is 10th on the overall medal’s table with three medals – a gold, silver, and bronze – all from women’s weightlifting.
