Nigeria, China praised for maintaining 50 years of diplomatic relations

Moses Ayom, chief executive officer (CEO) of Hongye International Limited, has lauded Nigeria and China for maintaining 50 years of diplomatic ties.

In a statement on Sunday, Ayom said the relationship between both countries is the standard for bilateral cooperation in the world.

The presidential aspirant said President Muhammadu Buhari and President Xi Jinping have been selfless and committed to transforming their countries, adding that China has been a “shoulder for developing countries to lean on”.

”Buhari is taking full advantage of the vast business opportunities available in China to boost the nation’s economy,” he said.

The businessman said the Nigerian leader facilitated an agreement his company — Granite and Marble — signed with SBM China to develop Africa’s largest mining processing plant in Abuja.

“That agreement was signed in 2016 during President Buhari’s maiden trade mission to China where I was a proud member of the presidential delegation,” Ayom said.

He said investors should explore the advantages provided by China to diversify the economy, adding the low cost of credit from the Asian country is an incentive that must not to be missed.

“Nigeria has a lot to benefit in its industrialization drive by sticking with China which is now the workshop of the world,” he said.

He said young Nigerians should channel their creative energies towards uplifting the country rather than engaging in vices that tend to destroy the image of the country.
