When Stephen Urueye lined up alongside his colleagues during the convocation ceremony at the University of Lagos on Tuesday, he probably had no idea that the end was near.
A serving doctor at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), the young man must have had the dream to save more lives but suspected robbers stabbed him to death right in front of the hospital at Idi Araba, Lagos, on Thursday night.
Urueye’s death happened at a time when the dust raised by the murder of Kolade Johnson is yet to settle.
Johnson was shot dead by a trigger-happy policeman at Onipetesi, near Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday.

I later recovered almost all my stolen belongings(long story)…#JusticeForStephen

I have been a victim of their robbery. They cane last 3yrs to the hospital, attacked the mosque inside the school and took our belongings. It was a sad Day. We proceeded to the police post just at the gate. The police men slapped one of us. Very sad #JusticeForStephen

I'm so appalled because there is literally a Police station opposite that canal, yet lives are being lost on a daily basis and people robbed.

Feels so sad to lose a colleague who just started out, filled with hopes, dreams, and promises.
Wonder where we should start from:
Security 0
Healthcare 0
Social mobility 0
Education 0
Quality of life in general 0RIP Stephen

That a young doctor is attacked in front of his work place and killed by hoodlums is indeed painful . What is more painful is that these attacks happen over and over and nothing is done about it.

It could have been anyone. That route is notorious for terrorizing young people. We can't fold our hands and allow this to go like the others. #JusticeForStephen

I graduated from the College of Medicine, LUTH in 2012. Medical school IS NOT FOR THE FAINTHEARTED. I mean a few students suffered temporary mental health issues due to rigorous academic requirements and clinical exams. This news is disheartening!
