The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles will participate in the 2025 Unity Cup in London.

Nigeria will compete alongside the Black Stars of Ghana, the Reggae Boiz of Jamaica, and the Soca Warriors of Trinidad and Tobago at the competition, which will be held from May 27 to 31 at the Gtech Stadium.

The Eagles will face Ghana on the first day in the tournament’s semi-final. The winners will play Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the final.

The losers will also feature in a third-place match to determine the podium finish.

The Unity Cup is an international invitational tourney, and the last was held in 2004.

Nigeria won the last edition of the tournament. The Eagles defeated the Republic of Ireland 3-0 in the opening game before doing the same to Jamaica in the second match.

Andy Howes, co-director of AfroSport, the tournament organisers, said the Unity Cup reflects “the growing commercial importance of African and Caribbean football” in the UK.

“The Unity Cup is a tournament that really does envoke the often-used phrase of an event that goes ‘beyond sport’,” he said.

“But with the array of elite stars, and profile of the teams involved, this event is not only important in terms of its cultural significance but also is a reflection of the growing commercial importance of African and Caribbean football as well as the growing demographic of Black football fans within English football.”
