Nigeria has now exceeded 186,000 recoveries with 295 COVID-19 patients discharged on Saturday.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the new figure in its update for September 11, 2021.
The agency also confirmed 547 new infections in 15 states and the federal capital territory (FCT — 17.3 percent surge from 466 cases recorded on Friday.
A breakdown of the new data showed that Lagos, which has been the worst-hit state since the outbreak of coronavirus in Nigeria, recorded 110 cases, followed by Oyo and Rivers with 72 and 56 infections, respectively.

Other states that recorded new positive samples include Anambra (50), Osun (49), Delta (48), FCT (42), Ekiti (29), Akwa Ibom (26), Abia (19), Kano (16), Edo (10), Benue (7), Ogun (6), Kaduna (5) and Bayelsa (2).
Two persons were confirmed to have died of complications arising from COVID-19 on Saturday, raising the country’s fatality toll to 2,590.
Out of a total of 198,786 coronavirus cases confirmed across the country, 186,075 patients have been discharged.
