Moses Simon and Akinkunmi Amoo, Super Eagles players, have missed out on the final shortlists of their respective categories in the 2022 CAF Player of the Year awards.
Simon and Amoo, who play for FC Nantes of France and Danish side FC Copenhagen respectively, were the only Nigerians to make the initial list on June 30.
But on Monday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled the final shortlist in the six categories for this year’s award.
The list includes Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, Mohamed Salah, Edouard Mendy, Naby Keita, and Vincent Aboubakar among others.
