Nigeria recorded 58 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the total number of cases in the country since the pandemic began to 213,982.
The latest positive samples were recorded in nine states and the federal capital territory (FCT), according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control’s (NCDC) update for November 27.
Imo topped the COVID-19 infection chart with 27 new cases, followed by Lagos and Rivers with nine positive samples each.
Other states which recorded infections are Katsina (3), Bayelsa (2), FCT (2), Kano (2), Niger (2), Bauchi (1) and Plateau (1).

The agency, however, said the cases reported include a backlog of infections from Imo, Niger and the FCT.
There were no additional fatalities on Saturday. The coronavirus death toll in the country still stands at 2,975.
Overall, Lagos accounts for the highest figure of coronavirus deaths in Nigeria with 753 deaths, followed by Edo and the FCT, with 280 and 224 deaths, respectively.

The NCDC said 70 people were discharged on Saturday after recovering from the infection.
According to the agency, the discharges include eight community recoveries in Imo state and 50 in the FCT.
With the new figure, a total of 207,184 patients have so far recovered from COVID-19 in Nigeria.
