The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says 634 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country on Thursday.
According to the agency, the new cases were confirmed in 22 states across the country while six persons died of COVID-19 complications.
The agency also said 315 people were discharged in two states — this includes 236 community recoveries in Lagos and 79 community discharges in Imo state.
Lagos, which is the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, topped the chart with 259 new infections, followed by Osun with 45, and Edo with 38.

Other states that also recorded new cases include Ogun (35), FCT (33), Anambra (26), Imo (24), Ondo (24), Akwa Ibom (20), Plateau (20), Abia (19), Kaduna (19), Ebonyi (17), Borno (10), Rivers (10), Kano (9), Delta (8), Kebbi (7), Nasarawa (4) Oyo (3), Enugu (2) and Ekiti (2).
Thursday’s figure brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 154,476. However, 131,699 recoveries have been recorded with 1,891 deaths across the 36 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
