The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up four places from 64th to the 60th position in the latest FIFA World Ranking released on Thursday.
The Eagles’ points haul improved to 562 from the 532 they recorded in September.
The three-time Africa Cup of Nations winners won their dead rubber against Tanzania in September, as well as the opening World Cup qualifying game against Zambia on October 9.
Nigeria are 11th in Africa, behind the likes of Côte D’Ivoire (first in Africa, 31st in the world) Algeria (35th in the world) Senegal (32nd in the world) and Ghana (45th in the world).

Other African countries ahead of Nigeria are Egypt, Condo DR, Congo, Mali and Cameroon.
Meanwhile, Argentina maintain the number one spot in the world and are followed by Germany, Brazil, Belgium and Colombia, who occupy second, third, fourth and fifth places respectively.
Other countries in the top 10 are Chile in sixth, Spain in sixth, France in seventh, Portugal in eighth, Uruguay in ninth and Spain in 10th.
