Adams Oshiomhole, governor of Edo state, on Wednesday said the anti-corruption fight of the current administration would help Nigeria regain its pride.

He anti-graft war was yielding results and gave the assurance that within the next few months, Nigerians would begin to jubilate over the positive turn around in the country.

Oshiomhole said this in Benin when he received the Muslim community in the state capital, led by Abdulfatai Enabulele, chief imam of the state Central mosque.

He urged Muslims and other Nigerians not to relent in thanking God for his mercies and peace upon the country.

The governor noted that in spite of the current challenges, Nigeria would be great, adding that the goal would be achieved if Nigerians embraced unity of purpose.

“It is never enough to meet the needs of greedy leaders, but if resources are managed well, there will be enough to rebuild the country,” the governor said.

Earlier, Enabulele had said that the moral lessons in fasting were not limited to speaking the truth at all times.

He said fasting was a period for self-examination, self-denial and supplication to Allah, adding that even though Ramadan was for Muslims, the lessons were for all.

The chief Imam, who also spoke on the state of the nation, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to dialogue with stakeholders in the Niger Delta region to forestall the current youth restiveness in the area.

He commended Buhari for the commencement of the cleaning up of Ogoni land, describing the initiative as a welcome development.

While urging leaders to be fair, he said that only purposeful and all inclusive leadership could redeem Nigeria.
