Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, has won the election in Enugu state.
Announcing the result on Monday, Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation officer in the state, said Obi scored 428,640 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 15,749 votes and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress. (APC) who had 4,772 votes.
Igwe said 482,990 voters were accredited out of the 2,112,793 registered voters in the state.
He said the number of valid votes was 456,424 while 12,467 were rejected.

Meanwhile, Arma-Ya’u Hamisu, INEC’s collation officer in Jigawa state, has declared Tinubu as the winner of the election in the state.
Hamisu said Tinubu polled the highest votes of 421, 390 against Abubakar of PDP who had 386,587 votes, and Obi who had 1,889 votes.
He added that 2, 341,441 voters were registered in the state and 961,670 persons were accredited.

Hamisu said 954,805 votes were cast while 920,531 were returned valid.
