“Having satisfied the requirement of the law, he is hereby declared winner, and hereby returned elected,” Chinyere said.
Ugochinyere was quoted as dedicating the win to Uncle Daniel, his late uncle, who was killed when gunmen attacked his home in January.
Since then, the member-elect has been attacked at least twice after that incident.

While congratulating him, Collins Opurozor, spokesperson of the PDP in Imo, commended Ugochinyere for not yielding to fear after the attacks.
“We commend the patience, courage, focus, and resilience of PDP members in Ideato, Ikenga’s supporters, and the entire people of Ideato, who despite the aggression and armed attacks, including killings and bombings, brought upon them by rampaging petty dictators in the State, they never yielded to fear,” Opurozor said.
