Ndudi Elumelu, minority leader of the house of representatives, has lost his seat in the lower legislative chamber.
Kenneth Ibe, the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced the development on Monday while reading the result for Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency in Delta state.
Elumelu, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lost to Ngozie Okolie of the Labour Party (LP).
Okolie polled 53,879 votes to defeat Elumelu, who got 33,456 votes.

Aside from the house of representatives minority leader, other lawmakers who lost their seats include Ajibola Basiru, spokesperson of the senate.
Basiru was seeking another tenure to represent Osun central senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also, Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue, lost his senatorial bid to Titus Zam, candidate of the APC.
