Nigerian troops ‘recapture’ 3 Adamawa towns

The Nigerian military says it has recaptured three communities that were seized by Boko Haram insurgents in Adamawa state.

The militants had laid siege on Gombi, Pelia and Hong communities, after they were overpowered in Mubi, the second largest town in the state.

However, the defence headquarters announced on Wednesday that those communities had been recovered and some insurgents captured.

The army further said that it was embarking on operations to recover all territories presently under the control of the sect.

On Sunday, the army chased the insurgents out of Chibok in Borno state after two days of occupation.
