Just when Nigerians were getting set for the presidential and national assembly elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) went into an emergency meeting.
The leadership of the commission summoned stakeholders to the meeting over logistics challenges on the eve of the elections.
In some states, materials had not arrived as of 9pm. The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the commission of acting the script of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nigerians are also commenting on social media.

If your headline says “INEC postpones” your content shouldn’t be saying “this is not yet official.” That’s nonsense!

1-Any postponement of the election scheduled to hold tomorrow is a #CoupAgainstNigeria and slap in the face of Nigerians, given that the government had enough time and money to prepare for the elections. If they postpone, don’t respond violently. Be patient to vote against them.

INEC had 4 years to plan for this election. Why is Nigeria so dysfunctional?
— Dr Dípò Awójídé (@OgbeniDipo) February 15, 2019
It will be a major let down, a monumental embarrassment if the election slated for tomorrow faces any hitch. INEC has no excuse whatsoever. Nothing should happen that can cast any shadow of doubt on the credibility of the process. We need to give a good account of ourselves.

My humble advice to INEC CHAIRMAN is to respond to these satanic rumours urgently…

INEC @inecnigeria shouldn't dare postpone this election…
Nigerians are waiting for PDP at the polling units as we speak.

Nigeria is such a funny place. You read a headline and you immediately doubt it's content before opening it. Did INEC postpone the elections Yes or No! If the answer is No, then why the hell did your headline say so….????

PDP'S DUBAI STRATEGY NIPPED…
INEC comfortable with security in place to address PDP's threat of unleashing violence during the course of the election. Election postponement no longer in consideration!

if this postponement is anything to go by, then INEC just provesd to be no different from a typical Nigerian MDA. Sit behind, do nothing, budget billions without adequate plan for the unforeseen and then disappoints at the last minute!
