Nigerians dominate CNN/MultiChoice African journalism awards

Nigerian journalists were the biggest winners at this year’s CNN/Multichoice African Journalist of the Year Awards, held on Saturday night in Nairobi, capital of Kenya. 

Although the overall prize of 2015 Journalist of the Year Award went to Burkina Faso-based Senegalese, Hyacinthe Boowurosigue Sanou, Nigeria, with four journalists, had the highest number of winners.

They are Adewale Olugbenga Emosu of Nigerian Tribune, Ibanga Isine of Premium Times, and Femi Joshua Asu (pictured) and Arukaino Umukoro, who both work for Punch Newspaper.

Kola Tubosun, the only Nigerian who did not win, lost to a fellow Nigerian – Emosu.
