You can't eliminate corruption. It is woven into human interactions. Eliminating corruption means eliminating humans. Corruption can be managed though by putting in place appropriate mechanisms and institutions with political will and popular support to attain these lofty goals. https://t.co/SgjCjJeDcV

The problem is, the average Nigerian has accepted corruption as simply part of us. So you talk about consequences and be goes: “Consequences? In Nigeria? Not going to happen!” But people can still be punished for corrupt practices if we make the resolve. #whatiscorruptiontoyou pic.twitter.com/ESCTpTXlyy

Unless we build a society which there is a limit to what money can get you and a limit to what lack of it can deprive you, we can't eliminate corruption. #Nigeria #Africa#WhatIsCorruptionToYou

I will rather say that there is a lot of systemic temptation to be corrupt.
Human nature is acquisitive (not just Nigerian). It is human to want to better your lot sometimes at the expense of others.
Poverty also provides its own unique temptations. Secrecy contributes too

I disagree, we are not inherently corrupt. Our systems are not strong enough to mitigate corruption. If any other country have this kind of systems, they would have same or worse level of corruption.

They should not be accepted as leaders, they should not be chosen, they should not be voted for, or anything that makes them reach a level of authority where they can harm the society.— Aminu Inuwa (@Amiiiinu) December 9, 2017

I think we can only eliminate corruption if we, individually and collectively are willing to change our ways of life to conform to all moral and socioeconomic ethics.#WhatIsCorruptionToYou https://t.co/yZ43EZY1QC

Pay a proper wage. Unfortunately, that would also require reducing the size of the civil service. Of course, the system must also be meritocratic | #Nigeria #Corruption

To me, corruption is when government officials send their children to schools abroad where the govt of that country spend hugely on education, and then refuse to fund adequately education at home bcos it doesnt affect their children

#WhatsIsCorruptionToYou To me, corruption is when a certain secretary request for cash/gift before I can see his boss or when a custom/immigration officer request for money just to screen me at the airport #UnitedAgainstCorruption #TheCable pic.twitter.com/yRpVb0eRkn

Oga, building of helipad is least of our problems bcos it's a no-issue in itself. The president is entitled to a helicopter by virtue of his office. Helicopters use helipads. His native home is in Daura. Now link that up logically. BTW, GEJ too had a pad in Otueke.

Corruption is when a SARS official uses the power of his uniform to oppress innocent Nigerians. It is when a @PoliceNG officer uses his rusty AK47 to threaten me to get off a bus on a rainy day because he wants to sit 'in front',next to the driver. #EndSARS #WhatIsCorruptionToYou pic.twitter.com/D689SfLMGh

You can only fight corruption by ensuring there's 'VALUABLE CONSEQUENCE' for acts of corruption. A certain grass-cutting SGF was found to have been corrupt. What's the consequence? This administration may be making progress in the fight against corruption but what happens after now? We need systems in place to stop this hydra-headed monster; not empty resolves and panel reports that may still end up at the mercy of rats! @thecableng #WhatIsCorruptionToYou pic.twitter.com/M5pft8VKTd
