Ibrahim Gusau, president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), says the fate of Jose Peseiro as the Super Eagles head coach will be decided by public votes.
The NFF president spoke about the Eagles gaffer in a recent chat with Gbamm! LovingFootball radio show.
Since Peseiro was appointed in May 2022, the Eagles have lost six of their ten matches.
The latest was a home defeat to Guinea-Bissau at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, in March.

Although the team has qualified for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) billed for next year in Ivory Coast, there is still debate on the competence of the Portuguese.
Speaking on Peseiro’s future with the team, Gusau said NFF probably “didn’t get it right in the area of getting the right person,” adding that Nigerians will be consulted before making the next steps.
“We have the plan to push the votes to Nigerians to hear their views and thoughts,” the NFF president said.

“We’ve tried the foreign coaches and also the local coaches, and it seems they were having some kind of problems.
“Maybe we didn’t get it right in the area of getting the right person.
“We are surely going to push it to the public, whether we should continue with Peseiro or he should go.”
