Ismail Adewusi, post master-general and chief executive officer, Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST), says the issue of poverty aalleviation is very dear to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Adewusi said this when Shameem Ahsan, Bangladesh high commissioner to Nigeria, visited him on Monday.
He told Ahsan that lifting Nigerians completely out of poverty is very cardinal to the Buhari administration.
Adewusi said as a “huge black nation”, Nigeria’s place in the global scheme of things requires that the people must be helped to overcome poverty in all its ramifications.

He said this explains the many reforms being embarked upon by the president.
He further said he was fascinated by Bangladesh’s approach to poverty alleviation stating that a country’s strong preference for patronage of local products is crucial to economic growth anywhere in the world.
“I can tell you specifically that this poverty alleviation issue is very dear to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. And this is an area we believe the countries would have a major common ground,” Adewusi said.
