The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) says it will establish a digital economy centre (DEC) in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state, to empower jobless youths.

The project will be sited at the Government Secondary School (GSS) in Kafanchan, according to a letter dated August 7, 2023, and addressed to the principal of the school.

Mohammed Saidu Kumo, head of the NITDA Project Management Unit, signed the letter on behalf of the director-general and chief executive officer (CEO) of the agency.

The agency said GSS Kafanchan was selected out of five secondary schools within Kaduna south senatorial zone, which were recommended for the project by Sunday Katung, the senator representing the area.
