The Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja, has joined millions of people across the world to celebrate the World Pharmacists Day, which holds on September 25 every year.
In a statement, Mohammed Abubakar, public relations officer of the hospital, said the hospital felicitates with pharmacists in their quest for the provision of safe and effective medicines for all.
“The Nizamiye Hospital on this special day felicitates with Pharmacists in appreciation of the key role they play in protecting patient safety through improved medicine use and reduced medication errors by using their broad knowledge and unique expertise to ensure that people get the best from their medicines,” he said.
He added that the hospital aligns with the position of the International Pharmaceutical Federation which stipulates that “all pharmacists must ensure access to medicines and their appropriate use, improve adherence, coordinate care transitions, and ensure that when a patient uses a medicine, it will not cause harm.”
