The Nizamiye Hospital Abuja, in partnership with the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges Foundation (NTIC Foundation), recently carried out over 50 free cataract surgeries for less privileged people Nigerians from various states.
Behlul Basaran, president of the foundation, said the free surgery programme is a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at giving back to society.
“As part of our CSR initiative, we partnered with the Nizamiye Hospital to carry out free cataract surgeries for the less privileged people from over five states in Nigeria,” he said.
He added that the initiative is a continuous one to reach the 1000 mark by the end of the year.

In his remarks, Severt Guller, the executive director of Nizamiye Hospital, said the hospital as a matter of policy is open to partnership with foundations in the country in the area of assisting the less privileged in the society.
“The hospital as part of our CSR has been conducting medical outreaches in rural communities across Nigeria in the past four years. And through this initiative, we have been able to touch lives positively,” he said.
