Nizamiye Hospital takes personal hygiene campaign to schools

In commemoration of the international nurses day and a part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, the Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja, took the personal hygiene campaign to public schools in the federal capital territory Abuja.

Servet Gulerman, executive director of Nizamiye Hospital, said the choice of public schools in the FCT was to inculcate the habit of personal hygiene amongst school children in the federal capital territory.

“This year, as in previous years, we partnered with our sister organization, the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges Foundation to take the message of personal hygiene to public schools in the FCT under the theme “Understanding and Observing Personal Hygiene” to educate students on why they must take their bath every day and also brush their teeth twice every day,” he said.

The event which held at Junior Secondary School Karimo, Abuja, saw to the distribution of personal hygiene packs such as toothbrushes, tubes of toothpaste, and bathing soap to over 500 students.

The international nurses day is celebrated every year all around the world on May 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Florence Nightingale and to mark the nurses’ contributions to the society.
