Nnamdi Kanu, director of Radio Biafra, has asked Adeniyi Ademola, justice of the federal high court, Abuja, to set aside an ex parte order procured by the Department of State Services (DSS) to keep him in detention, and also grant him bail.
Making his brief, Vincent Obetta, Kanu’s counsel, urged the court to grant him three reliefs.
One of the reliefs was that the court admit his client to bail, and that it should strike out the charge of terrorism against him.
The DSS had procured an ex parte order from the federal high court granting it permission to hold the director of Radio Biafra for 90 days.

This was after a chief magistrate court in Abuja granted him bail.
Obetta argued that Kanu had perfected his bail conditions as of October 21 – six days after he was arraigned – but the DSS refused to release him.
He, therefore, asked the court to set aside the order granting the DSS permission to keep Kanu in detention for 90 days, and grant him bail.

Obetta also pointed out that the DSS flouted the order of the magistrate court, and “abused court process” by running to the high court to procure an order to keep his client in detention.
M. U. Ndakwo, the DSS counsel, was unable to respond to Obetta’s argument as Ademola, the judge, called for an adjournment.
The case was then adjourned to December 14.
Kanu was arrested on October 14 in Lagos, and he has been in DSS custody since that time.

He is accused of financing terrorism.

Honestly, holding Mr. Nnamdi Kanu under DSS to date, is an injustice against humanity, especially we the Easterners. Holding him up to now confirms all he was saying to the world at large, that Nigeria is a law less State. Stop calling him a terrorist or a conspirator of terrorism. Free him for a betterment of Nigeria. Buhari how many Borkoharams harams harams did u freed? u want to condemn an innocent man and be freeing the real terrorist. DSS. Ur claims are against an innocent man is laughable.
This is stupid of the DSS to defile court order and still keep him under captivity uptill now. They also went ahead to accuse him of terrorism. Now, we have seen the terrorism out of the harmless men, women and youths demanding for his release. It’s a pity that this nation wallows in lawlessness. Shekau and his co boko haram members still live comfortably in Nigeria with Buhari having a dialogue with them. But harmless and law abiding Nnamdi Kanu has for long been denied such privilege instead, they gave him the treatment their Shekau deserves. Now the world have seen whom truly is the terrorist.
Your comment..I support u Oliver. we are still watching dem, but very soon we gonna do what is in our mind if dem didn’t free him nd give us our freedom.
Holding Nnamdi Kanu under DSS detention does not solve any outright problem, rather, it escalates the issue and reveals the injustices done in Nigeria and justifies everything Nnamdi Kanu have been fighting for. Nigeria should understand that without Nnamdi Kanu, there are other willful people to fight for Biafra until the kingdom of Chukwu Okike Abiama is restored in the face of the earth (BIAFRA)
Pls for once Nigeria should be law abiding and release Mr Kanu unconditional before this protest turns to revolution.
I strongly nd genuenly advocate Fast trial for kanu 2 admister justice 2 all the parties involved. I am sure even if d mother of kanu is the one 2 ruleout the case her son would b jailed.
Your comment..Indeed,we have to raise and fight for what rightfully belongs to us,our right, our destiny, our future….biafrans have no future in this country called Nigeria…..we can no longer stay in a country were we are been suppressed and marginalized.Namdi Kali has set up d pace,I therefore, urge all the biafrans to stand up and fight for our right.the so called hausa-fulani’s are continually imposing their Islamism on us.And that forms part of the main agenda of the current government.detaining Namdi Kali is the worst mistake buhari has ever made in his life.Namdi Kali is not a terrorist,he is only a harmless freedom fighter, the terrorists I see here are the people detaining an innocent man….long live the great nation BIAFRA….to biafra I stand.
Nigeria has prooved my able director right in all his sayings about it. Nigeria is a zoo a place without law. Release our director or have us to contend with. WE ARE INFORLABLE
