Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe has been sworn in as the chairperson of the governing council for Nwafor Orizu College of Education in Nsugbe, Anambra.
Chukwuma Soludo, the state governor, swore in Onyeali-Ikpe alongside other council members at the government house in Awka.
Onyeali-Ikpe, who has over three decades of experience in the banking sector, is the managing director and CEO of Fidelity Bank.
She is a graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) in Enugu and the University of Liverpool in the UK.

Soludo said Onyeali-Ikpe was appointed based on her credentials demonstrating corporate leadership.
He said her appointment is in line with the government’s efforts to reposition the Nwafor Orizu College as a leading institution for teacher education and professional development.
Four others individuals including Cele Aguruo, Fidelis Nweke, Uju Dibua, and Rex Kanu were sworn in as council members.

Justina Anyadiegwu was appointed provost, Edith Nwoye the acting registrar, and Anthony Aniebo the acting bursar.
Chioma Azubike was appointed as the acting librarian, Nnamdi Onyili as the director of works, Urewuchi Udolisa as staff representative, and Benny Egbunonu as PRO.
The event featured the official swearing of oath of office and oath of allegiance.
Among those in attendance were the chief of staff to the governor Ernest Ezeajughi, the attorney general Sylvia Ifemeje, the chief of protocol/deputy chief of staff Chinedu Nwoye, and the special adviser to the governor on legal matters Tochukwu Nweke.

Soludo asked the newly appointed staffers to introduce disruptive ideas that would bring about sustainable change in the institution.
