NNPP’s Falgore elected speaker of Kano house of assembly

Jibril Falgore, a lawmaker representing Rogo constituency, has been elected speaker of the Kano house of assembly.

Falgore, a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), won the election unopposed after he was nominated by Lawal Hussaini, a lawmaker from NNPP.

The motion for Falgore’s nomination was seconded by Musa Ali Kachako, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Also, Muhammad Butu-Butu, NNPP lawmaker representing Rimingado/Tofa constituency, emerged as deputy speaker.

Butu-Butu was nominated by Zubairu Masu, a lawmaker representing Sumaila constituency.

Lawan Husaini, representing Dala constituency, is new majority leader.

At the Kano house of assembly, NNPP has 26 members out of 40 seats, while APC has 14 members.
