No bad governance under Tinubu… PWDs won’t join protest, says aide

Mohammed Isa, senior special assistant to the president on special needs and equal opportunities, says people with disabilities (PWDs) will not partake in the protests slated for August 1-10.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Monday, Isa described the planned nationwide protest as an “attempt by some elements to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration”.

Isa said contrary to the opinion of some Nigerians, Tinubu has surpassed the expectations of PWDs within one year in office.

He said the planned nationwide demonstration was “masterminded by political opponents who are seeking to seize power through the backdoor”.

“I want to categorically state that there is no bad governance under President Tinubu leadership,” Isa said.

”Instead since the inception of this administration, the welfare of the Nigerian people, particularly, Persons With Disabilities, has been the primary focus and preoccupation of this government.

”The proposed protest is being masterminded by political opponents who are seeking to seize power through the backdoor. It is essential that we, as a nation, recognize these attempts for what they are: efforts to undermine our democracy and disrupt the progress we are making.

“Without any equivocation, the over 35.1 million PWDs in Nigeria remain united and stand strong by the government of Asiwaju and his Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Isa advised Nigerians, especially PWDs, to disassociate themselves from the “destructive exercise seeking to stop the wheel of progress under Tinubu”.
