No casualties as NAF aircraft crash-lands in Kaduna

The  Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its Super Mushshak trainer aircraft was involved in a minor accident in Kaduna.

NAN reports that Edward Gabkwet, NAF spokesperson, said the accident occurred at about 2:35 p.m. on Thursday.

Gabkwet did not say the cause of the mishap but noted that the accident occurred at about 3.5 nautical miles from Kaduna military airfield.

He added that the two pilots returning from a routine training flight who were on board, escaped the crash unharmed.

He said Hasan Abubakar, chief of air staff, has ordered an immediate investigation to ascertain the cause of the crash.

Over the years, NAF aircraft have crashed during missions in Niger, Benue, Rivers and Kaduna states.

In December, a NAF helicopter crash-landed during an operation against economic saboteurs in Rivers state.
