There was a fire outbreak at New Idumagbo Injection Power Sub Station situated at Adeniji Adele Phase 2, Lagos Island, on Tuesday.
Margaret Adeseye, director, Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service, confirmed the incident in a statement.
She said the “intense” fire outbreak was reported to the authorities at about 2:42 pm.
Adeseye said the agency was able to bring the inferno under control and prevent it from spreading.

She said the agency’s firefighting operations were supported by the Federal Fire Service, the Nigerian Police and Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency.
Adeseye informed citizens that the agency, in collaboration with the engineering team of the affected electricity distribution company (DisCo), has begun an investigation to unravel the cause of the fire.

She assured that an update would be made available as the situation demands.
She added that no casualty was recorded in the incident.
