The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the registration period for its 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will end on March 8, 2025, with no extensions.
The board earlier set the registration exercise for its UTME and Direct Entry (DE) to commence on January 31, and later February 3.
The deadline, which was shifted to March 8 from March 5, was publicised in official advertisements and the examination calendar.
In a statement on Tuesday, Fabian Benjamin, the board’s head of public affairs and protocol, urged prospective candidates to register promptly, citing a decline in registration numbers.

The board emphasised that waiting until the last minute could result in missing the opportunity to take the exam.
“So far, over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, in line with the board’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle,” he said.
Benjamin stressed that JAMB’s calendar is fixed, with subsequent activities—including the examination, results processing, and the admissions exercise—coordinated with other agencies.

“Extending the registration deadline would disrupt these plans and affect multiple stakeholders,” he added.
“JAMB has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the registration deadline and advised all candidates to complete their registration on time.”
In January, JAMB had disclosed that its mock UTME would come up on April 5.
It said the main UTME would start on April 25 and end on May 5.

For Direct Entry, sales of application documents would start by March 10 and close by April 7.
