Operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire outbreak at a power substation in Lagos.
The fire incident occurred at a Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) power substation in Maryland, Lagos state, on Saturday.
According to a statement released by Margaret Adeseye, director of the state fire service on Saturday night, the fire was put out.
Adeseye said no loss of life during the fire incident.

“The fire that erupted at the Transmission Company of Nigeria power sub-station at Maryland Junction, Maryland, at about 20:06 hours has been put out by the gallantry crew of the Ilupeju Fire Crew of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service,” the statement said.
“No casualties were recorded as an investigation into the cause of the fire and the enumeration of valuables affected is ongoing.”
On September 14, 2923, a fire outbreak had occurred on the Kainji/Jebba 330 kilovolt (kV) line — leading to the first national grid collapse in the year.

Subsequently, another fire incident occurred at a Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) power transmission station in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi state.
