Jide Kosoko, a Nollywood actor, has urged the federal government to monitor the funds disbursed to Nollywood to ensure judicious usage.
Speaking to NAN on Wednesday, the veteran actor described the industry as a “multi-million naira industry with huge prospects”.
“The industry is capable of generating millions of naira in revenue if well-funded,” he told NAN on Wednesday.
“The industry has lots of prospects and potential that can be used to boost its revenue. The opportunities in the industry can fetch government huge revenues.”

Urging the federal government to continue supporting the industry, he noted that the movie industry could generate huge revenue if properly funded and monitored by government, corporate bodies and spirited individuals.
He promised to continue supporting the industry to produce quality movies to move the Nollywood industry forward.
The 62-year old actor also urged well-meaning individuals to support the film industry and intensify the fight against piracy.

According to him, piracy is drawing the industry back.
