Gbemiro Olaoluwa, Nigerian musician and songwriter better known as GT da Guitarman, has described the late Olumuyiwa Osinuga as “the Jesus Christ of alternative musicians”.
He said this at the service of songs held for the late Iyawo Asiko crooner in Lagos on Thursday.
“I can’t say one thing about Nomoreloss, he was a great man. He was not not celebrated as much as he deserved,” he said.
“He gave the best type of advice. He was not the average musician, he’s not on the same level with the musicians you guys celebrate.

“We will miss him, he gave his life for him, he was like our Jesus Christ for alternative musicians. He pushed alternative music the best way he could.”
The 38-year-old musician died on Monday, March 21 after battling with typhoid.

Osinuga can be credited with helping musicians in their times of need, the most prominent being the #SaveOJB campaign that he launched in 2013 when Babatunde Okungbuwa, OJB Jezreel, suffered renal failure that affected both kidneys.
Olaoluwa corroborated this assertion, saying: “I remembered nights when I would ping him when I have issues bothering me and he would respond.”
Osinuga was born in 1977 and is popular for the recreation of Iyawo Asiko, originally recorded by Orlando Owoh, a Nigerian high life musician.
