‘Notable scholar and activist’ — Tinubu celebrates Kole Shettima on 65th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Kole Shettima, Africa director of the MacArthur Foundation, on his 65 birthday.

In a statement on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, his special adviser on information and strategy, Tinubu appreciated Shettima for his contributions to Nigeria’s democracy, human rights advocacy, and nation-building.

Tinubu highlighted Shettima’s role in promoting peace, justice, and democratic governance in the country.

He also acknowledged the MacArthur Foundation’s efforts, under Shettima’s leadership, in mentoring young leaders and supporting organisations working to address key developmental challenges in the country.

“Dr Shettima has been a vital force in advancing human rights and democratic ideals in Nigeria. His work continues to inspire hope and progress,” Tinubu said.

The president extended his best wishes to Shettima, praying for his continued good health and urging him to remain committed to the service of humanity.
