Ola Aina got injured during Nottingham Forest's 1-0 victory over Manchester United
Ola Aina, the Super Eagles defender, is set to spend an undisclosed period on the sidelines due to injury.
Nuno Espirito Santo, Nottingham Forest manager, revealed the 28-year-old’s impending absence during his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
However, the coach did not state the exact duration of his absence.
Ola Aina was substituted in Forest’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at the City Ground on Tuesday. He played 38 minutes of the encounter before his substitution due to a calf issue.

Santo had revealed after the win, secured by Anthony Elanga’s fifth-minute wondergoal, that Aina would have scans to determine the extent of the injury.
The Portuguese manager said Aina will be unavailable for the club’s upcoming English Premier League (EPL) encounter against Aston Villa. He also added that the team would sorely miss the defender’s quality.
“It is a problem with the calf. He [Aina] did the scan already, he’s going to be out for a while. He will be unavailable [for the match against Aston Villa],” Santo said.

“It is a big one [losing Aina to injury at a crucial stage of the season]. His quality, his talent, the routines he already had [will be missed].”
Aina has been integral to Nottingham Forest’s surprise run in the EPL this season. The fullback has featured in all of Nottingham Forest’s 30 league matches this season, contributing two goals and an assist as the club sits in third place.
