The Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ), University of Ibadan (UI) has announced a campus photo contest for student journalists from campuses across the country.
The maiden edition of the contest, which is named after Hammed Ibrahim, one of its alumni, seeks to improve and encourage participation in photojournalism.
Entries from participants must contain five pictures depicting the theme, ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Shooting the Solution’.
According to a press release by the organisation, participants must be campus journalists with evidence of membership in any higher institution of learning in the country.

To claim prizes, a letter of recognition from editors-in-chief or presidents must be presented.
Entries should be uploaded on Twitter and tweeted at @UCJ_UI with the hash tags #UCJUI, #HIBPhotocontest and #Participant’s first name and school.
All participants are to follow @ucj_ui account for their entries to be valid.

Pictures submitted should depict matters with emphasis on the pride, heritage and the socio-moral issues in higher institutions and be accompanied with a brief description not more than 100 characters.
Entries are expected to be original works of contestants (either coloured or monochrome in JPEG format not more than 2MB or 1500×2100 pixels). Scanned images and entries later than 11:59pm on September 10 will not be considered.
The first three positions will be decided by a panel with the 4th and 5th positions being participants with highest number of retweets and favourites.
Cash prizes of 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 will be given to the three winners respectively, with an internship opportunity for the top five contestants

Winners will be announced on the UCJ website (www.ucjui.com) and other social media channels on or before September 30, 2016.
Award of prizes to the announced winners will be done at the UCJ luncheon/Award Ceremony in the University of Ibadan on October 22, 2016.
