Abubakar Dantsoho, managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), says TinCan port rehabilitation will be hastened to improve competitiveness.
Speaking to journalists during a visit to TinCan Island Port (TCIP) on Monday, Dantsoho said the speedy rehabilitation of the nation’s dilapidated port infrastructure is his topmost priority.
He reaffirmed his commitment to collaborate with port stakeholders to enhance the efficiency of services at the nation’s seaports.
The NPA boss said adequate port infrastructure and robust stakeholder collaboration are crucial for improved revenue generation through efficiency and productivity.

Dantsoho reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s directive for the authority to deliver efficient port services and improved industry outcomes, assuring that his management team is prepared to achieve these goals swiftly.
“With the kind of backing we have from the honourable minister of marine and blue economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola CON, I want to assure stakeholders that the much-talked-about reconstruction of Tin Can ports complex will move from rhetoric to action,” Dantsoho said.
He said port competitiveness relies on sound infrastructure and assured NPA would promptly address this necessity to better serve Nigeria’s domestic cargo needs and those of its landlocked neighbouring nations.
