NPFL games give way to state Fed Cup finals

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Day 4 matches scheduled for April 4 and 5 have been postponed till April 19.

The chief operating officer of the League Management Company (LMC), Salihu Abubakar, said the games have been rescheduled following the directive of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) fixing all states’ FA Cup finals for the weekend of April 4 and 5.

Abubakar also said the rescheduling would allow clubs on continental engagements focus on reaching the next stage of their various competitions.

Kano Pillars host Moroccan side, Moghreb Athletic Tetouane (MAT) at the Sani Abacha Stadium with four goals deficit to overhaul from the first leg.

Nigeria’s other CAF Champions League representatives, Enyimba will depart the country on Friday for their return leg clash with Smouha FC of Egypt, scheduled for Sunday.

The match will be played at the Alexandria Stadium in Egypt’s second city.

Enyimba won the first leg in Aba by a lone goal.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Warri Wolves will also travel on Friday, to play Dedebit of Ethiopia on Sunday.

The Warri-based side won the first leg 2-0.
