NPFL: MFM replace Plateau United at the summit

MFM FC on Wednesday moved to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League after securing a 2-1 victory over Rivers United.

The rescheduled match was played at the Agege Stadium, in Lagos.

On-form MFM striker, Stephen Odey, was the hero once again as his brace gave his side the victory.

Odey scored his first penalty kick when Sikiru Olatunbosun was fouled in the 28th minute.

It was a cagey affair in the second half as both teams snuffed out each other’s chances.

MFM has now replaced Plateau United at the top of the table.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars put an end to a run of six matches without a win by beating Rangers 1-0.

The NPFL champions were on the verge of losing the game when they were awarded a penalty in injury time, but Godwin Aguda missed the kick.
