NPFL: Musa’s late winner lifts Pillars to victory over Tornadoes

Ahmed Musa has scored six NPFL goal this season

Ahmed Musa scored in the 93rd minute to seal all three points for Kano Pillars with a 2-1 win over Niger Tornadoes in their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter at the Sanni Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Saturday.

On his return from a two-game absence, the Super Eagles captain broke Tornadoes’ hearts as the Sai Masu Gida returned to winning ways at home.

Rashid Alhassan had put Pillars in the lead on 30 minutes and would go into the interval ahead, but Tornadoes equalized on the hour in the second period through Mohammed Aliyu to bring both sides level before Musa took centre stage with another fairy tale goal in the NPFL.

The goal is 32-year-old Musa’s sixth of the season since he rejoined the Kano-based side on a short-term contract in October.
