ABS defeated Plateau United 2-0 to put a dent in their bid to win this season’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.
Samuel Adedeji scored from the spot five minutes into the game before Segun Akinbo scored ABS’ second goal in the 65th minute.
Plateau are still ahead of second-placed MFM FC by three points in spite of the loss.
At the Agege Stadium in Lagos, MFM defeated Gombe United 1-0, courtesy of a Monsuru Bashiru goal.

Akwa United were pipped 1-0 in Nnewi by FC Ifeanyi Ubah with King Osanga’s 47th-minute goal making the difference.
Akwa are still third on the log with 54 points.
In Port Harcourt, Enyimba lost 2-1 to Rivers United. Bernard Ovoke and Abdoulaye Kanoute got Rivers ahead before Koffi Atchou pulled one back for Enyimba.

Despite the loss, Enyimba maintain their fourth position on the table.
Shooting Stars gave their relegation survival a big boost with a 2-0 win against Nasarawa United but they still occupy the 17th spot on the log.
Rangers defeated Katsina United 2-1 in Enugu; Chibuzor Madu scored a brace for the home side while Timothy Danladi pulled one back for the visitors.
The defending champions are now 10th on the log with 49 points.

In other match day 35 games, Kano Pillars beat Abia Warriors 2-0, Wikki Tourist defeated already relegated Remo Stars 2-0.
In Ibadan, Sunshine Stars edged Niger Tornadoes 2-1 and Anthony Okpotu’s hat-trick handed Lobi a 3-2 win against visiting El Kanemi Warriors.
