Plateau United, Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) leaders, on Wednesday, overcame El-Kanemi Warriors to secure another home victory.
Two first-half goals were enough for the Jos-based side to increase their lead at the top of the log to four points, at least for the next 24 hours.
Plateau United started the match at a frenetic pace, getting the opening goal through Salomon Junior who headed home Daniel Itodo’s long throw-in as early as the 12th minute.
Jimmy Ambrose’s rocket shot from 35 yards sealed the victory as the Kennedy Boboye-led team secured their fifth victory of the season.

It was another heartbreak for newly promoted Remo Stars as they lost 1-0 at home to Niger Tornadoes.
Chidiebere Ajoku scored the only goal in the 21st minute.
Abia Warriors came from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw at home against Sunshine Stars.

Gombe United left it late to beat Nasarawa United 1-0 at home.
Two other matches will be played on Thursday when Enyimba will take on Akwa United in Calabar while ABS will host MFM.
