Plateau United’s unbeaten start to the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) continued on Sunday as they forced hosts, Nasarawa United, to a goalless draw.
The stalemate ensured Plateau United maintained their top spot on the table.
The Jos-based team is yet to lose a game after six matches and have a point’s lead at the top of the table with MFM closely behind in second place.
Stephen Odey was the hero for Lagos-based MFM as his goal in the early minutes of the second half secured the first away victory for the team who struggled to escape relegation last term.

All efforts by the home team to get an equaliser proved futile as the side coached by Fidelis Ilechukwu stood their ground.
In Ibadan, Rivers United lost their first match of the season in a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Shooting Stars while Rangers’ resolve was broken by Prince Aggrey’s second half penalty for Ifeanyi Ubah FC as they lost 1-0.
Sunday Faleye did a yeoman’s job for Shooting Stars, scoring one goal while creating the assist for the second goal scored by Jide Apena.

Faleye gave Shooting the lead in the 17th minute but they were quickly pegged back by Lukman Mohammed’s equaliser in the 29th minute.
Apena secured the full points for his team in the 67th minute after making the best of an assist from Faleye.
Akwa United secured their first victory of the season in a 1-0 defeat of newly promoted Remo Stars while Lobi Stars beat Wikki Tourists 2-0.
In other matches played, Niger Tornadoes forced visitors Katsina United to a 1-1 draw while the game between Kano Pillars and ABS ended in a 1-0 victory for the Sai Masu Gida.

El-Kanemi Warriors and Abia warriors secured 1-0 victories against Enyimba and Gombe United respectively.
