NPFL: Rangers back in relegation zone after loosing on the road

Plateau United drew 0-0 with Lobi Stars on Sunday to maintain top spot on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table.

United now have 55 points.

In Agege, the match between MFM FC and Katsina United was postponed till Monday due to heavy rainfall resulting in a waterlogged pitch.

Aminu Abdulkadir opened the scoring in Uyo before the hosts Akwa United came from behind to win courtesy of Ubong Friday and Christian Pyagbara’s goals.

Akwa United are now second on the log with 50 points.

Enyimba fell to Shooting Stars who needed just one goal to secure a win in Ibadan.

Sikiratu Alimi’s goal in the 34th minute handed Sunshine Stars a much-needed win against El Kanemi in Ijebu Ode.

Abubakar Chindo and Wasiu Alalade’s goals in the 15th and 51st minute compounded Rangers’ woes in Ilorin as ABS defeated them 2-0.

Rangers are now back in the relegation zone.

Remo Stars were beaten 2-0 by Kano Pillars with Nyima Nwagua and Sikiratu Kamal scoring the goals.

In other NPFL games, FC IfeanyiUbah were forced to a 2-2 draw by Gombe United while Rivers United, who have two outstanding games, beat Wikki Tourists 3-1 in Port Harcourt and Abia Warriors held Niger Tornadoes to a 0-0 draw in Minna.
